Enhanced Provision Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about working with young people ? Have had previous successful experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour in an educational context?

We are looking for a committed and self-motivated teaching assistant to join our existing team in our SEMH enhanced provision for 30 hours per week term time only. Initially the position is for a one year contract and is subject to receiving further funding. Applicants must be experienced in working with young children who exhibit extremely challenging behaviour, have a commitment to the education and welfare of the pupils and have a fair professional approach to child care, adhering to School Policies.

You will need to be resilient, empathetic and caring whilst concurrently setting safe boundaries for acceptable behaviour.

Have excellent teaching and organisation skills combined with being friendly and efficient.

The following criteria are appropriate for this post.

Essential

· Proven record working with/caring for children with special needs.

· Experience of working in an educational setting, is essential.

· The ability to work flexibly and sensitively with staff from a wide variety of disciplines and to work independently.

· ICT skills using Word/Excel

· A car driver, or the use of a car is required due to the nature of the role

· Strong, clear communication skills both orally and in writing.

· Relevant qualifications e.g. NVQ in Childcare Level 3 or similar.

· Additional qualification in special educational needs/emotional and behavioural difficulties (desirable).

· Personal impact and presence is essential within this role.

· Adaptability to changing circumstances and new ideas

· Enthusiasm, Reliability and integrity

· First Aider, is desirable

Information about the School

We are rated a GOOD School. We are currently full with 206 children on roll. Pupils come from a wide range of social and economic backgrounds with a number of pupils from outside the catchment area.
