On 2nd November 2009 the Stanway and Thomas Lord Audley Schools formed a hard federation with one governing body and on conversion in March 2012 we became a multi academy trust. Both schools are members of The North East Essex Education Partnership (NEEEP), which was formed in April 2012 and is an umbrella alliance of seven convertor academies based in Colchester and Tendring.
The Thomas Lord Audley School is an 11-16 comprehensive school with just over 750 students (capacity of 840), which serves a diverse catchment area including Old Heath, Monkwick, Shrub End and the villages to the south of Colchester, including the community of Mersea Island.
The school has benefited from the Federation/Trust’s programme of seconding high quality staff between the two schools and also the development of wide-ranging in-service training which has led to ongoing school improvement
