Forest School Leader

Trinity Road Primary School, Chelmsford, CM2 6HS

We have created a brand new position to ensure our entire school grounds are used creatively and support children's development through outdoor learning and exploration

Are you looking to work in the great outdoors leading Forest Learning with primary age children? We are looking to recruit you to join our growing, ambitious and supportive staff team.

32.5 hours per week/5 days a week/term time only

Scale 6: Point 13-17

Trinity Road Primary School has created an exciting opportunity for a Forest School Lead to join our team. We are looking to appoint a skilled, ambitious, flexible and outstanding outdoor/forest practitioner dedicated to improving children's development, mental health, progress and outcomes through this hands on, practical and outdoor approach.

The successful candidate will be expected to cover whole classes and support children with an array of learning needs both individually and/or groups. Prior experience of working with primary children is essential, including SEND. Forest School accreditation essential.

The successful candidate must:

· Level 3 forest school qualification (or hold level 2 and are working towards level 3)

· Have GCSE English & Maths at Grade C or above

· Experience at working with primary age children, including with SEND

· Evidence and experience of teaching whole classes

· Knowledge of child development and healthy mental wellbeing

· Enthused and invested in outdoor learning and initiating play and learning with everything outdoors.

· Motivated to deliver all learning experiences outdoors including muddy and practical play, including risk taking.

· Plan for health, safety and be able to appropriately risk assess

· Have a positive approach and a range of strategies for behaviour management.

· Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to children, parents and other adults.

· Be committed to supporting the school vision, mission and values.

· Have personal drive and determination to deliver the best standards for learners

· Be self-motivated, intuitive and accountable

· Be able to work flexibly and responsively to meet the needs of the children

· Collaborate and communicate to a high level with the teaching team and the support worker teams to make the most of high quality planning and preparation.
