Frobisher Primary and Nursery School is a friendly, happy school and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and creative Catering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for 150+ meals including packed lunches, buffets and food for school trips. You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the work of a team of catering staff and you must also be aware of the effective provision of religious, medical and therapeutic diets.
At Frobisher Primary and Nursery School, we are looking for an individual who will ensure that the school catering is managed effectively with relation to staffing, budget, stock, service and delivery.
We are looking for someone who:
Has a proven track record of working in a busy kitchen evironment
Is able to manage budgets
Is able to communicate, enthuse and inspire
Can demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to, working in a multi-cultural school
Is able to work with the community
Has a strong commitment to team work
Is committed to an inclusive philosophy of education
Has a desire to play an active role in the development of the school and to use their own skills, talents and interest for the benefit of the children
This is a permanent post for 27.5 hours per week 8.45am-2.15pm term time +5 non pupil days.

Information about the School
Sir Martin Frobisher Academy is a primary academy in Jaywick, Essex, with a current roll of 170~ children. Many of our families live on the Brooklands Estate in Jaywick Sands, the most deprived area in Britain.
We are pleased to be able to offer transport to those families most in need to ensure their children can attend school regularly.
Sir Martin Frobisher converted to academy status in Sept 2016 and now has a strong, committed and experienced senior leadership team, in place for the next 3 to 5 years, who are dedicated to moving the school forward, while ensuring the individual needs of all children are met.
The Academy has a high number of PPG, FSM and SEND children and all staff need to understand the complexity of this and of the unique community that Sir Martin Frobisher Academy is at the heart of.
Having determined, and recently implemented, our consistent whole-school teaching and learning strategies, we are now excited to begin to monitor the impact these will have on children’s learning over time.
The children at Sir Martin Frobisher Academy are lively and enthusiastic, and need the very best, and fully committed, practitioners.
The sense of community is developing, and we are hoping to move back to a Local Governing Body in September 2023, following our Intervention Board being invoked to hold all stakeholders to account.
