Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy in Witham, Essex are graded 'Outstanding' and 'Good' by Ofsted respectively. Both have a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff alike.

Due to internal promotions the position of Second in Mathematics at Maltings Academy has become available.

The Mathematics Department at Maltings Academy features six specialist classrooms all containing interactive whiteboards, class sets of Scientific Calculators and mini white-boards. As a teacher, you will receive a laptop and iPad and excellent CPD opportunities.

The most recent Ofsted inspection found that in mathematics "students make rapid and substantial progress" where "high proportions make expected, or above expected progress". We follow a traditional approach to teaching Mathematics which includes group work and thought provoking activities centred more recently on problem solving with the new GCSE. The Mathematics Department Team consists of six specialist teachers and LSA support for SEN students.

We are looking for an exceptional classroom teacher who demonstrates high standards of delivery in a consistent manner that allows for our learners to succeed and achieve. You will be committed to improving achievement across the department and understand the strategies required to accomplish this. You must be a strong leader with the ability to inspire both staff and students. Enthusiastic, a winning personality, and an imaginative approach to the delivery of the curriculum area and attention to detail are essential. A real sense of belief and enthusiasm are more essential to our vision for mathematics than experience - applications are welcome regardless of previous experience at this level.

Potential candidates are encouraged to contact the Head of Maths for an informal discussion about the post and also to visit the academy. Please contact Simon Gibbs on 01376 512 911 extension 1221.

The post is based at Maltings Academy but you may also be required to work at New Rickstones Academy. The post is due to start in January 2016.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners - to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our AET academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, Cycle2work, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.

Please note: shortlisted candidates will be contacted on Monday 19 October 2015 for an interview on Thursday 22 October 2015.

AET is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for all posts.
