We are seeking to appoint a full time Designated Safeguarding Lead and Family Liaison Manager to join our school. We would like to appoint this role as soon as possible so that our current postholder can work alongside the person who is appointed to give the best possible handover. The role involves being the first port of call for safeguarding concerns in school and working with families in the school community who need to access support. A level 3 qualification in safeguarding would be desirable but training could be provided for the right candidate who didn't hold this qualification.

We have a very strong focus on Nurture. We know that children cannot learn if they are worried or anxious and that having people to talk to and help them with their worries can make a huge difference to their wellbeing, school life and their academic progress. We have a strong pastoral team which includes two pastoral care workers who focus on mentoring and behaviour as well as this role currently advertised.

If you are someone who has an interest in and experience of safeguarding and supporting families as well as a belief that every child is unique and special and deserves the very best outcomes then this could be the job for you.

You would be joining a supportive, motivated team who work hard to consistently provide pupils with learning that is both challenging and fun. There is strong leadership support for new ideas and ways of engaging our children who have a real appetite for learning.

Dunmow St. Mary's Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. This appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and supportive references.

Visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact Mrs Helen Bright in the school office to arrange this.

Closing date Friday 3rd May

Interviews Week beginning 7th May

However, we reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to these dates if the right candidate applies.
