Learning Support Assistant

Monday to Friday 8.45 am - 1.30 pm

Term Time Excluding Non Pupil Days

Actual Salary : LSA 17.5 Hrs per Week Scale 3 points 5-6 £9,294 - £9,818 (depending on experience)

Playleader 6.25 Hrs per Week Scale 2 Points 3 - 4 £3,212 - £3,392 (depending on experience)

We are looking to appoint an adaptable and motivated person to join our friendly school team for a fixed term until 31st March 2025.

This one position has two roles in our school.

The first role is a Learning Support Assistant.

This role will involve supporting a child in our Year 2 class and will also involve working with groups of children and supporting other learners as directed by the class teachers. Previous experience is desirable but not essential for the right person.

The successful applicant will need to have a patient, positive and kind attitude, with excellent communication skills and a genuine love of working with children. Working as part of a team, you will need to be calm, flexible, dedicated and be able to form positive relationships with staff and children.

The applicant will show initiative and flexibility under the guidance of the class teachers and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and be able to maintain a positive attitude. Applicants will understand the professional nature of the role.

The second role is a Play Leader (1 hour 15 mins daily, Monday to Friday 12.15pm -13.15pm)

The position will require the successful candidate to supervise the pupils' activities at lunchtime, ensuring high standards of health & safety, behaviour and wellbeing. The role of the Play Leader is to promote positive play and interactions enabling our children to flourish.

The Play Leader should act as a responsible, caring person, always with the welfare of the pupils in mind. It is essential to have a positive attitude with the ability to communicate with children in a firm but fair manner.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting children and working as part of a team.

This role willinvolve liasion with the school's PE Coordinator, Healthy School Lead and Senior Midday Assistant.

This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, creative, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure.
