Starting Salary £25,212 per annum

About the Team:

We have recently launched our dedicated Institute of Technology (IoT) hub on our campus with a focus onhigher-level skills. Our IoT centre offers flexible higher technical qualificationsand apprenticeships. You will report directly to the Head of Academy for Higher Education and the IoT.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active individual to be the driving force behind growing our Higher education and IoT provision.

About the Role:

As an Outreach Worker, you will play a pivotal role throughout the learner journey, working closely with both staff and students. Your responsibilities will include:

Organise and provide information to Harlow College students on HE study through tutorials, talks, activities and taster/open events
Organise and provide information events and materials to market HE and IOT to external potential students through tutorials, talks, open events etc
Providing tutor support when needed for HE teaching and learning sessions in the subject specialist area appropriate to the postholder's first degree
Act as mentor to potential HE students to support completion of FE programmes and support progression onto HE programmes.
Work closely with teaching staff and Information, advice and guidance (IAG) team to promote courses and improve IAG regarding internal HE offer.
Support with internal marketing campaign to raise awareness of HE and IOT offer.
Work with curriculum teams to identify gaps in offer at Level 4-6.
Identify barriers facing potential HE learners and implement solutions to help them overcome these.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Level 2 Maths and English
  • Experience and/or Knowledge of Higher Education
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to confidently present to large groups
  • Willingness and ability to engage in further professional development and training as required
  • Ideally has experience of Further Education sector.
  • Willing and able to work within the FE/HE teams to maximise progression towards HE at Harlow College
