An exciting opportunity to join a well-established, knowledgeable, multidisciplinary therapy team working within a special school.
The Edith Borthwick School is a large special school which caters for learners aged 3-19 with severe learning disabilties (SLD), profound learning disabilities (PMLD) and autism. We aim to deliver functional and integrated therapy across the school working closely with teaching and support staff.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Speech and Language Assistant to join our team. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities is essential. 5 GCSEs(or equliviant) including maths and english and strong communication skills are also essential.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, support staff and learners themselves to develop their communication and help them to reach their full potential. You will join our friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary therapy team which includes a Senior SLT, specialist SLTs and specialist Occupational Therapist.This is an ideal to help you develop to further your career in Speech and Language.
This role is 30 hours a week term time only. The hours are Monday-Wednesday 0830-1530, Thursday-Friday 0900-1500.
