The Rayleigh Schools Trust seeks to appoint a highly motivated and excellent Teacher or trainee Teacher of the Deaf to join our successful team based at Glebe primary School.
The successful candidate will start in September but a May start would be preferred. Although this is for a full-time post, part-time may be considered for the right candidate.
Our Resource Base has welcoming, friendly and motivated staff who provide specialist provision that is inclusive and tailored to our children's needs. This post requires the successful candidate to work with Early Years and Primary School children within the resource base and mainstream classes.
The successful candidate will:
· have or are willing to train and achieve BSL level 2
· have or are willing to commit to and to complete TOD Training and qualification
· have a proven track record of outstanding practice across the Primary Phase
· have enthusiasm to work alongside colleagues within our rapidly improving school
· have experience of SEND practice, including completing Annual Reviews
· coordinate Educational Health Care Plan meetings, liaising with a wide range of professionals
· develop good working relationships with children, staff and parents
· support our children to access the National Curriculum within the Resource Base and Mainstream setting. Ensuring they make expected progress alongside their peers
· advise mainstream staff about deaf awareness and deaf education
· have an awareness of audiology and keeps abreast with current development in deaf education.
