Stortford KidsOut, Summercroft are seeking qualified, unqualified, experienced practitioners in a variety of fields, Early Years, Playworkers, Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Sports Coaching to fulfil our expansion needs.
We already have a large, popular club at Summercroft KidsOut in Bishops Stortford. The club operates from a dedicated building for children at the school both before and after school. Staff hours are between 7.30-9am and 2.30 - 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
The school are adding an additional wraparound care building for Stortford KidsOut to offer a further 32 places at Stortford KidsOut from September 2024.
We are seeking 4 additional staff members to help us meet the demand for parents desperate to secure a place next year.
If you are keen to share your skills or knowledge with primary aged children out of school - we are happy to meet with you to discuss our need for staff and your individual needs for working hours. We would be pleased to share with you our popular, Stortford KidsOut club, now in its 21st year at Summercroft School, so you can see for yourself the enjoyment the children experience in our care.
Staff are required to support and engage with the children, providing fun activities that appeal to their interests e.g. art & crafts, baking, construction, board games, outdoor sports/games.
We are seeking full and part time, all year round staff and term time only staff. We can be flexible with the number of days each week. When staff work term time and holiday clubs combined, salary is calculated over 52 weeks of the year and includes 30 annual leave days + 8 Bank holidays. Term time only posts are 38 weeks + pro rata annual leave/bank holiday allowance.
Qualifications are not essential, although experience with the age group is required and some in-service, professional development training will be arranged at regular intervals each year. All staff will be offered full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Training and be required to complete an online Level 2 course in Safeguarding.
The post will require two references and an enhanced criminal reference check (DBS/Child) that we will process as part of our recruitment process.
Full time hours: 27.5 hours a week (1430 annual hours)
Term time hours - Monday to Friday
Full time Breakfast Club: 7.30 - 9.00am | Full time After School Club: 2.30 - 6.30pm
Part time Breakfast Club : 8 - 9.00am | Part time After School Club: 3 - 5.30pm
Holiday Club hours4 - 6 hours a day (equal to usual day/daily hours combined)
Holiday Club opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday
Holiday club weeks generally fall over the half terms, a week at Easter and three weeks in the summer.
Start Date: All posts are available immediately - we are keen to complete our team between January - May 2024
Salary Hourly Rates 21 yrs +: £11.44 - £14.43 (varies with experience, qualification)
Paid Annual Leave: 38 days, including bank and public holidays

Information about the School
Saplings is a private nursery, in semi-rural Essex. We have two lovely houses, Waltham Hall Cottage for under threes and Chapter House for preschool. Our gardens are extensive and natural, with trees, shrubs and planters. We grow vegetables, enjoy fruit from the fruit trees. We keep chickens, guinea pigs and giant african snails for the children to enjoy.
The nursery is open all year round, Monday to Friday 7.30 - 6.30pm.
Stortford KidsOut, provides Wraparound / Out of School Care to two local schools. Our setting in Bishops Stortford, close to the M11, is a large, popular club that is in its 21st year. The club operates from a dedicated building, offering breakfast and after school care for the children of Summercroft Primary School, CM23 5BJ. Staff working hours are between 7.30-9am and 2.30 - 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
Our second wraparound/out of school provision is based at Birchanger Primary School, Birchanger, CM23 5QL. This is a smaller club and has equally been operating successfully for a number of years.
