We wish to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support a lovely EYFS girl who is starting with us in September. She has a condition called Lumbar Spina Bifida with hydrocephalus who requires intimate care, support with her movement around the setting and some additional support for learning needs. As the successful applicant, you will need to have a patient, positive and kind attitude, with excellent communication skills and a genuine love of working with children and be able to build rapport quickly. The role will incorporate supporting the child to move around the school site, including the use of the stairs, supporting with care needs such as dressing and undressing, helping deliver intervention to support the emotional and learning needs of the child and supporting them to build relationships with their peers. You will need to be able to support their care needs throughout the school day including full Clean Intermittent Catheterisation. A background in previous care roles would be an advantage. Working as part of a team, you will need to be calm, flexible and dedicated. Although you will be working mainly with this one pupil, you will also be working alongside other children in the class to support their learning. The successful candidate will receive training in line with the EHCP and the Great Ormand Street Urology team.

The proposed hours are Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.15pm (30 minutes lunch) on a 30 hour contract pay (based on proposed pay increase of £1925 across all points) is £15,824 per annum.
