Learning Support Assistant KS1
Pay range: NJC Scale 3,
Range point 4 to 5,
FTE (NJC April 2022) £21,189 TO £21,575,
Estimated at £15,067 to £15,342
Weeks / Year: 44.3
Hours / Week: 31.25 (8:30 am - 3:30 pm) with a 15 minute morning break and 30 minutes lunch break that are unpaid break
Contract type: Fixed Term, with a possibility of permanent
Start: As soon as possible, as soon as all safer recruitment checks are completed

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is able to provide learning activities for classes under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher and who is able to assist in planning, preparing and delivering lessons and assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with or caring for children of relevant age in a primary school setting KS1, KS2. Having proven practical skills to support children with SEN in a mainstream setting would be an advantage.


This role will require some flexibility and liaison with teaching and midday supervising staff to ensure the child's needs are met throughout the school day. Personal care for children will be required. Heybridge Primary School currently has 396 pupils ranging from 4 – 11 years.

We have a bright modern building, which is well equipped and is set within unusually generous grounds with playing fields and gardens. We are acknowledged as a friendly school within our local community and benefit from easy access to local amenities.

In December 2012 we converted to Academy status and became part of the highly prestigious Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). The School shares good links with other primary and secondary schools in the Maldon area, so can provide wider learning experiences and networking opportunities with our neighbours and also schools within the TKAT family.
