The St. Christopher School is a special school for pupils aged 3 -19. We work with a wide range of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, communication & interaction difficulties and arange of learning difficulties.
Since September 2017, The St. Christopher School joined SEN Trust Southend, which is a Multi-Academy trust. This gives way to a number of opportunities to work cooperatively across St.Nicholas School, Lancaster School and Kingsdown School.
We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 teacher to work with mixed groups of pupils whose main area of special educational need is Autism with moderate to severe learning difficulties. There are currently 12 pupils in the class with a team of 3 support staff. An applicant with EY/KS1 school experience may also consider applying.
Our teachers must be enthusiastic, hard-working and show agenuine interest in working with pupils with special educational needs. They must be able to motivate the team of support staff that work with them and be committed to the whole school teamwork ethos. The school provides access to high quality training for staff.
As a school we are committed to ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils. All staff will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

We work with a wide range of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, communication & interaction difficulties and range of learning difficulties. The school is part of SEN Trust Southend.
SEN Trust Southend opened as a formal partnership on 1 September 2017. The four special schools, The St. Christopher School, Kingsdown School, Lancaster School and St. Nicholas School have always worked closely together to create a strong group of special schools which aim to meet the majority of needs of those pupils who require specialist support in a specialist educational school with Southend. We created the Multi-Academy Trust to help us continue this work.
