Room Leader (40 hours) Year round position
Preferably Level 3 or Above Qualified
The following list of duties is intended to indicate the range rather than set limits: - they are not exhaustive.
- Promote positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues.
- Leading, supporting and developing a team to meet the requirements of each child in line with the EYFS.
- Ensure health, safety and wellbeing of the children.
- Support the children's development, learning and play.
- Be a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS.
- Work with area SENCOs, EYFS Advisors, health professionals and local Sure Start programmes as appropriate.
- Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
- Reviewing and monitoring all planning, observations and evaluations to ensure that these meet the needs of the individual child and the welfare requirements.
- Monitor the 'key person' process to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Coach and mentor members and induct new members of the team.
- To be familiar with Nursery policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to by other team members.
- Continue with your CPD and taking part in any training.
- To ensure rooms/staff ratios are always met.
- Ensure staff time management is managed effectively.
- Read and be familiar with the nurseries policies and procedures.
- Ensure you implement Equality and Diversity, and the British Values in your room daily.
- Risk assess your room daily to ensure there are no hazards that could cause danger to children and staff.
Information about the School
We are a stand alone privately owned full day nursery. We are open from 7.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday 51 weeks a year. At Scribbles it is our aim to offer a highly professional and dedicated nursery with a home from home atmosphere. We believe that the key to a successful nursery is putting the children's needs first and nurturing a close partnership between the nursery and families. In addition to the children's daily regular routine the nursery provides many extra curricular activities throughout the day.
