A vacancy has arisen for a kitchen assistant to join our catering team at Perryfields Junior School to start in September.
The position is for 10 hours per week, term time only, payable at Scale 2 Point 2-3 (£9.60 - £9.79 per hour). Working hours are 11.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday. The annual salary is £4,155 to £4,239.
The role involves:
· Preparing for the lunch hour by setting out equipment including trays, cutlery, crockery and water jugs;
· Hand washing up of cooking equipment and cleaning all catering areas / equipment on a daily basis;
· Helping to clear serving areas and operating the dishwasher;
· Supporting in food preparation and cooking;
· Assist in serving food to children on occasions;
· Undertake any other duties that may be required for the effective operation of the kitchen under the direction of the Catering Manager.

Previous experience in a catering environment or in a school kitchen in particular would be helpful. However, this is not essential as full training will be given.
