The post is ideal for someone wanting long weekends and school holidays free and to reduce their number of working days. It would be ideal for families with school aged children as would still allow you to do the school runs, put your children to bed and have long weekends and holidays with your family.
The school will also fully fundand allocate training for candidates to study an NVQ level 3 in Residential Care if you do not already hold one. There will be opportunities during quiet periods in the night to allow you to study for this as well as in your own time.
A typical night awake shift would start by liaising with the daytime duty staff and helping to settle any children that are still awake, reading bedtime stories. Once all children are asleep you will need to be on hand to reassure and settle anyone that wakes, whilst they sleep you will be expected to carry out some light household duties as well as having an opportunity to study. In the morning you will be on hand to interact with the children as part of a team and help them with their morning routine.
