Intervention Learning Support Assistant

LSA Scale 3 points 4-5

£19264-£19650 pro rata (Actual salary £4323.76-£4410.40 pa)
10 hours per week - Afternoon Intervention LSA (1:00pm - 3:00pm) Term time + 5 INSET days
Start 1/9/22 until 21/7/2023 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring, and hard-working Learning Support Assistant to plan and run a range of afternoon interventions across the school. These will be to support the physical, emotional, and academic needs of children within our school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a calm, patient and positive approach to working with children including those with learning, medical or behavioural difficulties.
  • Have proven experience planning and running interventions as well as previous experience as a teaching assistant in the primary setting or other phase
  • Show some understanding of a therapeutic approach to supporting children (additional training provided).
  • Be able to work as part of a team, under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher and SENDCO, as well as being able to show initiative.
  • Have excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Have a commitment to helping children of all abilities reach their full potential.
  • Hold at least a grade C in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).
  • Have school based ICT experience or be willing to develop their skills.
  • Be committed to making an impact on our children's education.
  • Have an understanding or awareness of SEN issues.
  • Have the ability to liaise closely with class teachers to deliver the National Curriculum and specific interventions.
  • Be kind and courteous to all with a great sense of humour!
