We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our 'friendship' school for September 2022.
The successful applicant will work primarily with a lovely year 6 child who has an EHCP. They have severe and persistent literacy difficulties which impacts their access to the curriculum, requiring sensitive support. The child has a diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). They have low self-esteem and some attachment difficulties which can manifest in anxiety.
We will be looking for support across every morning, 8:45am - 12pm Monday to Friday.
Applicants would benefit from experience of using strategies to support children with low level academic abilities, self-esteem and anxiety.
The successful candidates will ideally:
- Be passionate about supporting pupils with SEND
- Have experience of supporting pupils with additional needs within a primary classroom
- Be flexible in their approach
- Be able to engage and motivate children to learn
- Have a good sense of humour
- Enjoy being physically active
- Have an enthusiasm for nature, animals and outdoor learning opportunities
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be able to work in partnership with outside agencies
- Work well as part of a team, as well as show initiative and an ability to work independently

This post is fixed term only for the duration of the child's attendance at the school (1 year).
