Scale U1-L1 £38,960-£42,195 Fixed Term.

Required: 1 September 2022.

Based at Colchester County High School for Girls, Colchester working with a happy and forward-thinking team.

An opportunity has arisen for efficient and conscientious Appropriate Body (AB/ITT) Initial teacher Training Lead Manager to join the (Alpha Teaching School Hub). Flexible working hours, although with some occasional requirement for early evening work between 4 pm and 7 pm. Part Time would be considered. Remote working policies are being considered for 2023.

We are looking for:

A skilled professional who is proactive, calm under pressure and has previous managerial experience of initial teacher training/mentoring/NQT/ECT induction. Previous experience of appropriate body services would be an advantage.

You will have a proven ability to provide practical solutions to training and teacher improvement in schools, a well-informed perspective on major aspects of professional development and a deep understanding of the principles of effective teaching and learning and high-quality mentoring.

You will have an understanding of the pressures of school environments and seek to ensure efficient, effective and responsive systems and communications to our schools.

Good written English, attention to detail, discretion and flexibility are also essential.You will communicate effectively with a range of colleagues within education, across the county and beyond.

Someone who has the drive and ambition to support our Teaching School Hub to be the very best. This role will require both independent working and the ability to be a team player.

Colchester County High School for Girls is part of Alpha Trust. It is a selective state school for academically able students aged from 11 to 18 years which consistently achieves public examination results at the highest level and Ofsted "Outstanding". Admission to the school is via the 11+ examination in Year 7; the school also admits academic students into the Sixth Form. The school is lead for the North East Essex Teaching School Alliance and Colchester Teacher Training Consortium is based on the site. Situated a mile to the west of central Colchester, the school is set in its own extensive grounds on a large, quiet campus.
