New Rickstones Academy is graded 'Good'(May 2018) and has a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 6 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is now oversubscribed and we have an existing new build in progress to further increase student numbers to meet demand. New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with a friendly and supportive staff team. Staff numbers have also increased and the academy is proud to boast high staff retention rates. Staff development is a priority with an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program to further develop our excellent staff.

Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a Learning Support Assistants to support students with learning difficulties/disabilities in mainstream classes, small groups and 1-1 in order to support student achievement and progress. You will have: a good understanding of SEND and experience working with children with learning difficulties or disabilities; excellent literacy and numeracy skills including Maths and English Level 4 (or equivalent), the ability to motivate and encourage students and great communication skills

Hours are 30.5 per week (Monday 8.30-3.30, Tuesday-Friday 8.30-3.00), term time plus 5 non student days. This position is due to start on 1 September 2022.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to begin a journey towards working to support students with special educational needs. Equally, it would be a great opportunity for applicants who have a degree (or are studying for a degree), as you will gain experience to potentially develop a career within teaching. A number of our support staff have progressed to our School Direct Teacher Training programme.
