Learning Support Assistant
We have a vacancy for a good-humoured, flexible and patient learning support assistant to work term time only (39 weeks a year), Monday to Friday.
Responsible to - Headteacher, Class Teacher, SENCo
Job Purpose - To work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures. To provide support to pupils in a particular curriculum area or with Special Educational Needs.

Key Information for candidates regarding terms and conditions -
Working weeks per year: 39
Hours per week: 31.25 hours to be worked over five days (Monday to Friday). Applications for a reduced number of days, but which must include Fridays, will be considered.
Daily working hours: 8.15am-3.30pm (with a one hour unpaid lunch break every day)
Location: The post is based in the school.
Start date: Required as soon as possible.
Pay: The post is paid on Essex Schools' Local Government Pay Scale 4, point 6 (within range 6-7). The full time equivalent pay for this Scale is £20,043 per year and the actual salary for this part time post based on the hours outlined above will be £14,447.74 per year. These figures include the holiday pay entitlement for someone with less than 5 years' service. Employees are paid monthly in twelve equal months per year.
Holiday leave: The successful candidate will work during each week of term time including non-pupil days.
Holiday will be deemed to be taken during school closure periods. There is no entitlement to take holiday during term time.
Probation: All individuals new to employment with the academy will be required to satisfactorily complete a six month probationary period.
