We are looking for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant who:
- Shares our school values - Aspiration, Social Justice, Perseverance, Inclusion, Respect and Equity
- Has recent experience in supporting children with additional educational and / or social and emotional needs
- Believes that positive relationships are the key to a child's success and is determined to 'Make a Difference' to the lives of all of our children
- Has the highest expectations for all children regardless of their backgrounds and takes responsibility for addressing any form of discrimination
- Believes that taking a therapeutic approach is the way to helping a child develop from past traumas
- Knows how to support a child who becomes dysregulated and has a clear understanding of the therapeutic approaches that could be used to help that child develop their self-regulation skills.
- Has undertaken Attachment Awareness and PACE training or has a desire to complete this.
- Has experience of Boxall or Thrive approaches to working with children
- Has the ability to start afresh each session as required and adapt the day according to the child's needs.
An understanding of how to support a child with Type 1 Diabetes would be an advantage.
