We are seeking to appoint exceptional people to join our expanding team at The Glen - our new residential provision at Glenwood Residential Special School.

Our school exists to make a transformational difference to the quality of life and future prospects of each individual young person through recognition and nurturing the unique contribution they make. We work together to ensure our curriculum delivers the very best for present and future life, enabling each young person to play the biggest role possible in shaping and opening up possibilities for the future.

The Glen is an educational residential setting supporting up to 20 Glenwood School learners who live with a range of complex needs including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, medical needs and autism. We strive to provide opportunities for learning that impact on their whole life so that they can enjoy and have positive experiences beyond school whilst exploring the challenges faced by them and their families.

We are looking for caring people who have experience of supporting young people with complex needs, who can work flexibly and strive to make a positive difference in the lives of the young people we are so privileged to support. The role is varied and will include some personal care and housekeeping tasks. Our staff participate in ongoing training and development.

There are two 40-hour per week roles, working Monday-Friday, term time only. Please specify in your application which role you would prefer to apply for:

Role 1 - rotating nights and split shifts (early/late) - actual starting salary £20,264 (Scale 6 points 12-17) (FTE £22,571-24,920)

Role 2 - split shifts only (early/late) - actual starting salary £17,994 (Scale 4 points 6-7) (FTE £20,043-£20,444)

Successful applicants will be supported to complete a mandatory Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
This role includes membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, which benefits from generous employer contributions.

NB: Please take note of the job description and person specification before applying. If you have any questions please contact the Head of Care, Caroline Bailey, at The Glen on 01268 792575.

Please ensure the application form is fully completed before submitting.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
