Anglo European School is seeking a full time or minimum part-time (0.60), enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science to join a successful, collaborative and supportive Science Department from September 2022. This position would be a suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher looking for a different challenge or environment. A specialism in Biology desirable, but not essential.
In this department, KS3 students are taught general science. At GCSE, we aim to teach Science according to specialisms but, on occasion, teachers are required to offer beyond their science specialism and having the ability to do this is a distinct advantage. The role will involve teaching students in the 6th form; support and training will be available to support a suitably qualified candidate to teach both A level and IB courses.
All science staff are encouraged to contribute to the development of the curriculum and are actively involved in developing science pedagogy and practice. A commitment to STEM education, the extra-curricular programme and enrichment for our students is also highly valued.
The Science Department achieved 9-4 for GCSE Biology - 96%, Chemistry - 96%, Physics - 95% and Combined Science - 84% in summer 2021. ALPS scores ranged from grade 6 to grade 3 for these GCSE subjects. The sciences are very popular in the Sixth Form with approximately 200 students taking A level and IB Science courses.
The Anglo European School is a comprehensive school with a curriculum informed by internationalist principles, a strong international curriculum, a celebration of diversity and language learning, developing students who demonstrate outstanding personal, social and linguistic development. All members of staff working at the school support the aims and ethos of the school and participate in the well-established visits and exchanges programme.
We encourage applicants from under-represented backgrounds. Anglo European School is committed to providing equal opportunities for all employees and increasing diversity in education.
The Anglo European School is located in the village of Ingatestone in Essex with easy access to the A12 and M25. Ingatestone is also only a 30 minute train journey from Liverpool Street station.
