The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Colne Community School and College for a Catering Manager to join our Catering Team.
Our school is a community in which we believe everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to be nourished and grow. Therefore, we are seeking to recruit a proactive and forward thinking member of staff to lead our Catering Team. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. We work closely with other schools within the Trust to improve standards and ensure that we are creating the best environment for our students to learn and our staff to develop.
Our school community is expanding which makes this a particularly unique and exciting time to join our team. We have a brand new teaching block consisting of 8 new classrooms and 4 specialist Design and Technology rooms fully equipped. A further large scale internal refurbishment will be taking place over the 2022/23 academic year which will further improve our school environment for all, including extensive work to our Refectory.

This role is 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (Term time plus inset days, and 3 weeks outside term time).
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
● Plan creative, innovative and nutritious menus for students, staff and visitors
● To be responsible for the preparation and presentation of all food to the required legal and school standards
● Provide leadership, supervision and support to employees and trainees, including allocation of duties, work rotas
● To develop a Strategic and Operational Plan for the catering provision
● Control of hygiene and health and safety

We're looking for you if you have:
● CGLI 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery
● Proven experience of managing a high volume quality commercial kitchen operation e.g. hotel/events catering as Chef or Assistant
● An ability to work effectively as part of a team
● A proactive approach
