New Rickstones Academy is graded 'Good' (May 2018) and has a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 6 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is now oversubscribed and we have an existing new build in progress to further increase student numbers to meet demand. New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with a friendly and supportive staff team. Staff numbers have also increased and the academy is proud to boast high staff retention rates. Staff development is a priority with an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program to further develop our excellent staff.
Due to an internal promotion we are looking for an Associate Teacher to join our Cover Team. You will provide cover for classes in the event of absence of teaching staff in all areas of the curriculum, following lesson plans provided and maintaining order and focused activity. You must have GCSE Maths & English Grade C/Level 4, preferably with a Level 3 or above qualifications. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to motivate our learners. You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and 'think on your feet'.
The hours are Monday to Friday 8.15am to 3.00pm.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for applicants who have a degree (or are studying for a degree), as you will gain experience to potentially develop a career within teaching. A number of our support staff have progressed to our School Direct Teacher Training programme and then into teaching and leadership positions.

Information about the School
New Rickstones Academy is a co-educational 11-19 comprehensive, part of Lift Schools. We have approximately 135 staff.
The school has modern, state of the art building offering a first class learning and working environment to students and staff. The main building opened in 2012 and a new 2-storey building was added in September 2022 to accommodate our rapidly increasing popularity and student numbers. This success is also evident in our increasing published admission number (PAN), up to 240 from 180 since September 2022.
