Crays Hill Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a School Caretaker to start as soon as possible.
The position is for 15 hours a week (6.30am - 9.30am, Monday to Friday), 41 weeks per year (term time plus 2 weeks)
Salary Band 4, Point 6. Actual salary £7,379 per annum (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

Crays Hill Primary School is located on London Road, Crays Hill. We are one of the eight schools which form the Berlesduna Academy Trust (www.berlesduna.co.uk), where the vision is to create and foster a culture of high aspiration, enjoyment for learning, academic success and lifelong skills amongst all pupils, regardless of their social, economic or cultural background.
We wish to appoint a dedicated and proactive School Caretaker to start as soon as possible. Our new School Caretaker will be energetic, enthusiastic and will take great pride in how our school looks and functions.
The successful candidate will:
· have a good range of skills and experience including: building and grounds maintenance, general painting and repairs
· have responsibility for carrying out statutory checks to include fire alarm weekly testing and legionella testing.
· be required to respond to incidents around the school on a daily basis such as cleaning up accidents and spillages, setting up/clearing away of certain equipment (eg chairs and tables) and porterage.
· act as a key holder, carrying out security procedures for the buildings and grounds. The routine and non-routine opening of premises and grounds. Responding to calls outside normal working hours as a result of the burglar alarm.
· be able to communicate effectively with a range of people including children, staff, parents, visitors and contractors and have a good awareness of health and safety issues.
· be approachable, well-motivated and be able to work on your own initiative.
· be required to open up each weekday morning at 6.30 am. There may be occasions when you will be required to stay later on an overtime basis.
