Somers Heath Primary School
Assistant Headteacher
Start date: April or September 2022
Salary: Fringe. Leadership Spine 1-6 (£)
Location: South Ockendon, Essex
We are currently looking for an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team at Somers Heath Primary School. We are a good school (Ofsted 2016) and look forward to publishing the report for our inspection in December last year. We are also part of Catalyst Academies Trust, a small, local trust but the highest performing in the country (2019). The school is an active part of the local Teaching School Hub and the Teach Thurrock Initial Teacher Training Primary Partnership.
We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual to develop as a senior leader. Along with other members of the senior leadership team, the Assistant Headteacher will be centrally involved in the management of the school and will be responsible for raising standards, instilling high expectations for all and helping to establish a culture that is nurturing and rigorous. They will also have opportunities to work across The Trust, supporting the continuing development of teaching & learning and our ambitious curriculum.
Our ideal candidate will be an outstanding teacher and a strategic leader with a resilient character and a strong personal drive.
The ideal candidate will also:
· Have a proven experience of positively impacting on student progress, raising attainment and developing excellence
· Be fully committed to Somers Heath Primary School's ethos of high expectations
· Have the drive to make a real difference to the lives of pupils
· Have experience in leading staff professional development in order to improve an aspect of teaching and learning
