Student Support Teacher: Unqualified
Full-time, Permanent
Teachers' Unqualified Pay Scale (£18,419 to £28,735)
Castle View School is looking to appoint a colleague who is passionate about working with young people and support them to be the best they can be.
We are keen to hear from those who believe all children should have equal access to a good education and that, sometimes, some children need extra support to overcome barriers to their learning. Our Support Teacher will be paid on the unqualified teacher scale and work with our Ocean Suite Manager (internal isolation) and SENDCO in our Personal Learning Zone (PLZ). The tutor will work with pupils who may have SEND or an EHCP as well as working one to one or with small groups of children. The tutor will support the individual child or the small group as they overcome whatever the barrier is but more importantly that their learning keeps pace with all other pupils whilst they are accessing either the Ocean Suite or PLZ provision. Pupils may need support on a short term basis (as little as one day) or for a more extended period of time.
The tutor should be confident in supporting pupils across a range of subjects at both KS3 and KS4. They should have effective communication skills, well developed skills of empathy and have a calm and caring approach with children and young people.
You will work alongside a well-trained and supportive team to ensure all of our pupils are accessing their learning and that they continue to make progress in line with their peers.
We would welcome visits or informal an informal conversation on the phone.
We are looking for a candidate who:
· Believes that every student, regardless of their background, can make outstanding progress.
· Is rigorous, relentless, determined, creative and inspirational in their style and presence as a leader.

· Is caring and has the drive and passion to continue to develop strong relationships and wellbeing with staff, students, parents, governors and the local community.
· The ideal candidate will be able to display dynamism and determination.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team who truly aim to make a difference, not only to student life chances and successes, but also developing young people who contribute to society with kindness and confidence.
We can offer you:
