The Alderton Infant and Junior Schools are seeking a hardworking, organised and proactive Assistant Caretaker to join our school community. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to liaise with our Site Manager, school staff and extended school community.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Professional, Enthusiastic and has a respectful 'can do' attitude
- A clear understanding of health and safety and site security requirements including keyholding responsibilities
- The ability to identify and ensure day to day general maintenance is completed to a good standard e.g care of the site, DIY, decorating and cleaning
- Flexible and able to manage their time and workload effectively, willingness to work additional hours where required
- Can work independently as well as a team with our site manager
- A good communicator
- Can respect confidentiality of parents, staff and children
- Has a sense of pride in their job and our beautiful site
Scale 3
Pro rata FTE £19,831 including Fringe (annual salary increase pending)
32 hours per week - 7:30 am start
1 year fixed term contract

The Alderton Junior School is a 2 form entry Junior School for pupils between the ages of 7 to 11 years. We are a forward-thinking school, working in collaboration with 15 other local schools as part of the Epping Forest Schools Multi-Academy Trust. We share our site with The Alderton Infant School, with whom we share our values and work very closely. We are situated in Loughton, Essex, close to transport links into Central London but with the countryside, community feel of the Epping Forest Area.
Our vision is clear, to provide pupils with an exceptional education that is inclusive and challenging for all learners and provides wider opportunities for all. We are the Alderton family and nurture every individual so that everyone who joins our family feels that they are safe and that they belong. We are part of The Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust of fifteen Primary and one Special School all based in the Epping Forest District.
