We are looking to appoint a learning support assistant to join our happy and hard-working team. This role will provide one-to-one support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities or social and emotional difficulties and will initially be based in a Year 2 class. This is not currently a class-based LSA role and is likely to interest candidates who enjoy working with children who face considerable challenges with either their learning or managing their behaviour. Hours per week will be 26.
We require a member of staff who is flexible as the role will change according to the needs of the school. Interest is particularly welcome from applicants who have experience of working with children and an understanding of positive behaviour management strategies.
Suitable candidates are likely to be able to motivate and encourage children to achieve their best whilst supporting their wellbeing. A good standard of English and Mathematics is essential as is a caring and enthusiastic nature.
This is a temporary position and the successful candidate will be offered a one-year contract.
The school is committed to:
- safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety, and the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, of children and young people;
- promoting equality of opportunity and community cohesion where the diversity of different backgrounds and circumstances is appreciated and positively valued;
- the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs
We expect all staff, volunteers and other workers to share this commitment.
