We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic, committed and caring person to join our happy band of learning support assistants. This is a fixed term contract of 20 hours a week, term time only (linked to the pupil). Initially the funding is for one year but this may be extended.

Playing such a significant part in a young person's development will be an extremely rewarding role for the right candidate. Experience of supporting children with individual needs would be preferred but all applications are welcome as training and comprehensive induction will be provided.

The roles will require assisting in the support of differentiated teaching and learning; implementing an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP); contributing to annual reviews and liaising with various outside agencies as well as building a positive relationship with parents/carers.

What we offer:

· Enthusiastic children who are eager and ready to learn;

· Clear shared vision that drives all we do;

· Supportive teachers, parents and governors who are committed to the school;

· A positive and supportive learning environment that promotes continual professional development;

· A friendly, welcoming team both within the school and as part of the Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust (EFSPT).

Essential qualities:

· Have high expectations of everyone, including yourself;

· Be dedicated to meeting the needs of all the pupils in your care;

· Be reflective and always look for ways to improve your practice;

· Have the energy and enthusiasm to make the difference.

Information about the School

We are a successful and inclusive 3 form entry mainstream primary school in the heart of Loughton. We are lucky to be located opposite Epping Forest and we regularly use it to enrich our curriculum and enable children to respect it and connect with it. Staples Road Primary School continues to be a Good School (Ofsted November 2022).

In partnership with the Governors and parents, our staff work hard to provide a safe, happy and inclusive setting for every child to reach the high expectations we hold. We are proud of our curriculum offer: it challenges, excites and motivates all our children. It offers breadth and enrichment and, alongside our values of Kindness, Honesty, Resilience and Creativity, we aim to shape the whole child to ensure they achieve not only academically but also socially and emotionally too.

Our shared vision is that we challenge ourselves and support each other to be the best that we can be. We believe that primary education should be an exciting journey and that every child should leave our school with a love of learning that will remain with them throughout their lives. Our motto is Strive, Respect, Succeed: every child's hard work and effort with a positive attitude is rewarded by celebrating their successes and achievements.

We are part of The Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust of fifteen Primary and one Special School all based in the Epping Forest District. Along with our SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training), School Improvement Team, Well-being Service and Resourced Provisions based in three of our schools, we are a leading educational organisation in Epping Forest.

EFSPT was formed in 2018 from a consortium of schools that had worked together for over 20 years, and are committed to collaborative working to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children and school communities. The schools maintain their identities but work in a highly collaborative manner supported by a small but very experienced Central Team.

Our Mission is to provide an exceptional education that is inclusive and challenging for all and which provides wider opportunities for the children within the EFSPT to flourish.

EFSPT is committed to Trauma Perceptive Practice; the Essex approach to understanding behaviour and supporting emotional well-being. Being trauma-perceptive means that through our values, policies and practice, we are able to effectively support the children, families and communities in our Trust, creating spaces of belonging and safety that enable everyone to flourish, become resilient and learn.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer and we are committed to safeguarding our schools’ communities. The appointment will therefore be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS checks.

West Essex SCITT is an outstanding provider of Initial Teacher Training. We currently have student finance or self funded postgraduate trainee teacher vacancies available to start in September 2024 across all of our 16 primary schools.
