Psychology Intervention Manager
Scale 5 Points 8-11
Term time plus non pupil days and one additional week, 37 hours per week
Required to start in September 2021
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Psychology graduate to the well-established position of Psychology Intervention Manager due to the success of our current post holder gaining a place on the highly competitive Educational and Child Psychology Doctorate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a large, experienced and dynamic Pastoral and SEND team.
The school is looking to appoint someone with enthusiasm and creativity and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will need to be a team player who has the confidence to speak with parents, in front of members of staff and also have good listening skills and empathy. It is essential that you have experience of working with children and highly desirable that you studied child development and mental health as part of your Psychology degree. Experience of solution focused approaches, research and CBT work would be ideal.
The role will include leading small CBT based session to support SEMH needs, mentoring sessions and contributing to person centered meetings. The role will involve working with a wide range of SEMH needs and also 'at risk' students. The successful candidate will work closely with the Learning Support Department, Pastoral Team and Safeguarding Leads at The Boswells School, as well as the Essex Educational Psychologist and other outside agencies including EWMHS. It is expected the successful candidate will contribute to the further development of the role once in post. There are opportunities to become involved in research projects and training as well as exploring your own interest areas. Supervision is available to support this role.
