SEN Keyworker - Named Pupil

Band 3 points 4 - 5 Actual salary £12,748.40 - £13,003.60

Post: 30.00 hours per week initially, term time only: 8.45am -12.00pm, 12.30pm-3.15pm

Start date: As soon as possible

Queen Boudica Primary School is a thriving and successful two-form entry primary school situated on the north side of Colchester. We offer modern, well-resourced learning environments and our pupils are well mannered, dynamic and motivated to learn. You will be offered strong support from friendly colleagues and professional development opportunities to enable you to extend your existing skill set.

We are in receipt of funding for a pupil in Year 4 with an EHCP for ADHD/ASD and complex learning and emotional needs, who requires an adult to work with them on a 1-1 basis, supporting the teaching team with delivery of an individualised curriculum focussed upon academic attainment alongside emotional regulation. It is intended that the pupil's hours will increase during the course of the summer term from part time initially.

Strong behaviour management skills, and experience of working with pupils with SEND are essential. The ability to work creatively to include practical activities in additional to basic literacy and numeracy skills (such as is found in an EYFS setting), as well as experience of planning and delivery of individualised curriculums would be ideal. The ability to lead 1:1 and small group sessions is vital. Coaching and support will be provided from an ASD specialist in the initial weeks in post. Close liaison with home and attendance at termly reviews are essential, and effective working with other professionals in a 'team around' approach is also important.

As with all posts in our school, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check, in line with our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We reserve the right to close the advert early if an appropriate candidate applies.

Closing date: Friday 30th April 12.00 noon

Interviews: week beginning Tuesday 4th May
