SAT Director of School Improvement (Primary)

As a consequence of the growth of Saffron Academy Trust (SAT) and Saffron Teaching School Hub, we require an exceptional teacher and inspirational leader to take on the role of Director of School Improvement and Assistant Director of the Saffron Teaching School Hub (Primary) for the Trust from September 2021.
The successful candidate will already have leadership experience of a school, ideally as an Assistant or Deputy Headteacher. They will have a record of identifying and leading school improvement projects as well as delivering high quality professional development. This is a full-time and permanent post. The post-holder will be based at two SAT schools in Dunmow and Saffron Walden and will be expected to travel within Essex to support the role.
The post-holder will work alongside key members of the Trust and Teaching School Hub to ensure that standards of achievement, and teaching and learning across SAT's Primary schools are of the highest quality and that schools joining the Trust are fully supported. The post-holder will also lead Primary CPD in Saffron Teaching School Hub, alongside the Director of the Saffron Teaching School Hub.
It will be the responsibility of this Director to continue to raise and maintain the standards of education across Early Years, Key Stage 1 & 2 and to identify and share best practice throughout the Trust and the Hub region. The role will also involve close liaison with the Director of the Saffron Teaching School Hub to ensure that the appropriate NLE and SLE resources are deployed where they are needed. It is likely they will lead school improvement projects for the Hub and actively seek out these opportunities for the Trust.

Information about the School
R A Butler Academy is a vibrant school located in the heart of the market town of Saffron Walden and a core school of the Saffron Academy Trust. Although technically two schools, Infant and Junior, we work as one and are led by one Headteacher. We have 90 children in each year group with a capacity of 630. Our site is spacious and well-resourced. Staff are well supported and the school is committed to career development.
