Catering Manager with responsibility for all members of the catering team, leading all areas of catering and hospitality.
Required April 2021 (or as soon as possible thereafter) - 27.5 hours per week (term time only)
Working hours are: Monday to Friday (term time) 8.30 a.m- 2.00 p.m.
We are looking to appoint a Catering Manager, with successful experience of working in a busy school kitchen, to join our team. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing a fantastic lunch time experience for our children and our Catering Manager will be responsible for promoting healthy eating and leading a team of committed colleagues.
We are very proud of the healthy, home-cooked meals we offer which use fresh, local produce. This is an exciting time to join our school as we are looking to broaden even further our provision for children at lunchtime and further increase meal uptake - our new Catering Manager will have lots of ideas about how we can achieve this.
Catering for approximately 200 meals a day, the successful candidate will be an experienced cook, adaptable, able to work in a time pressured environment and will also be able to lead and manage a team of three other catering staff. Equally important, however, will be your flexible and positive attitude to work, passion for food and ability to form good relationships with children and other staff members.
Previous experience of working in catering in an educational or commercial setting, preferably in a lead role, is desirable. The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate that they understand the importance of food quality control, excellent service and will have experience of maintaining high standards of hygiene and Health and Safety. Training will be provided for candidates who feel they can step in to the management role. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed Catering Manager to join our school.
