Southend East Community Academy Trust (SECAT) is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead the Central Finance function under the direction of the Finance Director.
The financial controller is responsible for the provision of an expert financial management service to all academies within the Trust of seven locations including five Primary, one Secondary and the Central MAT. They are responsible for the daily management of the Trust financial affairs and performance, providing regular briefings to the Finance Director on the Trust's financial performance, management accounts and budget matters. They will work closely with the Finance Director to develop and implement the strategic financial plan for the Trust.
We are looking to appoint an experienced school sector Financial Controller with experience of PSF accounting system and IMP budgeting software.

The Central Multi-Academy Trust Head Office is based at SECAT House, which is in the extensive grounds of Thorpedene Primary School. The Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Finance Director and PA to the Executive Team, all work from SECAT House.
The Central Finance Team, the Central ICT Team and the Central HR Team are all based in schools within the Trust; the Central Finance Team and the Central ICT Team work from Shoeburyness High School and the Central HR Team work from Richmond Avenue Primary School and Nursery.
Each school has a Local Academy Committee, to which the Trust Board delegate responsibilities.
