Before and After School Club Assistant
Fixed Term Contract
Start: ASAP to22nd July 2021
Scale 2 Points 2-3
27.5 hours per week
38 weeks per year
£18,198 - £18562 pro rata (actual salary £11,725.25 - £11,959.78)
We would like to appoint a confident, proactive and creative individual to work alongside our team in our before and after school club. The ideal person would have some experience of working within a school, play work or childcare setting.
The post is for 27.5 hours per week - 7:30am to 9am and 3pm to 6pm Monday - Friday (term time only including training days). This post will be a fixed term contract until 22nd July 2021.
The role includes supervising the children, ensuring their safety at all times, engaging with them in aspects of play and conversation, setting up activities for children to optionally take part in, meet and greet parents and provide them with feedback on their child's time at the club and food preparation. Having fun in a safe environment!
The successful candidate must be passionate and enthusiastic, able to create a fun and creative working environment for children. A Level 2 or 3 qualification in play work or childcare or willing to work towards this qualification would be an advantage, but not essential. Paediatric first aid and food hygiene qualifications are desirable and the successful candidate must be willing to undertake further essential training.

Information about the School
Barnes Farm Infant School is a school for 4 -7 year old children in Chelmsford, Essex. We have a wonderful team of staff, active and informed governors and supportive families who all help the children to be safe and happy and to make exceptional progress. It is our aim to make sure that all members of our school community are supported and feel included and valued.
The children are divided into classes according to age. Children will progress through the National Curriculum on an individual basis with appropriate individual educational plans being provided for children with special educational needs and for gifted and talented pupils.
