Teacher of Design & Technology (inc Food & Nutrition)

Part-time 3 or 4 days

Are you passionate about your subject and about how to engage young people so they achieve their very best? Are you ambitious and do you enjoy working with others to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning in Design & Technology and Food & Nutrition?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or NQT to join our highly committed, hardworking Design and Technology/Food and Nutrition departments. The successful candidate should be DATA accredited for Health and Safety (or capable of undertaking the training). You will be expected to be flexible in teaching the whole spectrum of Design and Technology based subjects, including Food and Nutrition and Textiles at Key Stage 3. Staff morale is high at our school; we have an excellent induction programme and a commitment to professional development for all staff. All teaching staff are provided with a laptop.

Our Design and Technology/ Food and Nutrition departments are well resourced, all students in Design and Technology have access to CAD/CAM facilities and it is embedded at KS3. In Food and Nutrition students have access to a professional fully fitted restaurant style kitchen. The successful candidate will want to bring their passion and enthusiasm for Design and Technology/Food and Nutrition to encourage, motivate and engage our students and continue to raise standards in these departments. We deliver GCSE Design & Technology and A Level Product Design and in Food Nutrition we deliver AQA GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.
Our oversubscribed school achieved a 'GOOD' rating in its Ofsted inspection in February 2017 and we have a commitment to supporting students in developing as well-rounded individuals as well as achieving their academic potential.

Great Baddow High School is very well thought of locally. Our motto, which translates as 'always striving for higher things' encapsulates our vision for our students and staff.
