About the team
The Sixth Form department at Harlow College have an upcoming vacancy for maternity cover for A Level Business covering part of the academic years of 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. This highly successful A Level department delivers a wide range of A Level subjects and achieves excellent grades and value added, contributing to the colleges overall success that has resulted in it being in the top 1% of colleges nationally for academic progress.
About the programme
The AQA specification covers six units in the first year based on the functional areas of a business. Four additional units are taught during the second year, covering strategic decision making, building on the study of decision making in the functional areas from year one. The content of the course covers the importance of the context of business in relation to decision making, the interrelated nature of business activities, and how they affect competitiveness in different markets. There is a significant amount of quantitative data used in decision making, including the interpretation of index numbers and calculations such as ratios and percentages, as well as use of non-quantitative data as well.
About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented individual who can support the A level Business learners in exploring the programme content, developing the necessary skills and knowledge to reach their potential in the end of year exams. Experience Required
· Successful delivery of A level Business Studies, including preparation of learners for examinations
· Previous experience of planning of lessons, preparation of resources, delivery and assessment of A level Business Studies
· Experience of using a range resources to promote learning, including digital resources
· Creative problem-solving skills
