Glebe Primary school, as part of the Rayleigh Schools Trust, seek to appoint an experienced LSA with a Level 2 BSL signing qualification to join our strong team of LSAs and Teachers of the Deaf within the Enhanced Provision for Hearing Impaired Children.
This is a permanent position for 10hrs per week. (Wed & Thur 9am-3pm) 38 weeks per year.
The post will involve support for hearing impaired pupils both within specialist groups and in their mainstream classes.
The successful candidate would need to:
Have excellent deaf awareness skills.
Have the flexibility to use BSL, "voice-on" SSE or oral communication as appropriate.
Be able to build good relationships with staff and pupils and have a positive, enthusiastic and calm manner.
Have knowledge of the primary curriculum especially for English and Maths.
Educated to NVQ Level 2 in learning support/early years, NNEB or equivalent qualification/experience.
