PREMISES MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
Pay Range: Essex 2020 Scale 5, Spine Points: 8-11
Annual Salary Range: £20,493 to £21,748 pa (dependant on experience)
This is a full time permanent contract, (52.14 weeks), working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 3pm, working hours are to meet operational needs. Annual holiday entitlement: 24 days per holiday year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, multi-skilled, proactive and organised Premises Maintenance Assistant to join our Premises team. To contribute to the smooth running of the Academy by carrying out a range of duties as directed by the Premises Manager including security and supervision of the site and related equipment, there will be an emphasis on building and DIY maintenance tasks, porterage and other manual duties will be involved.
The hours of employment are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 3pm, working hours are to meet operational needs. This post is on a 52 week per year contract (24 days paid leave plus bank holidays). The duties of the post as outlined will be subject to the appropriate risk assessment, safe systems of work and appropriate equipment being available and the relevant competencies of the post holder.

Regular maintenance checks to waste pumps
Regular checks of danger signs to moat
Working at heights
Maintenance and Health & Safety
Plumbing, plaster repairs, glazing and painting work.
Previous similar experience in the building trade is desirable but not essential as training will be given. You should be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills and be able to relate well to pupils and interact with them in a friendly and positive manner. A cheerful, flexible approach, the ability to prioritise, with a can-do attitude and good DIY skills are essential.
