We are looking to recruit a Midday Assistant to join our friendly team here at Lexden Primary School.
Our MDA's are essential in helping to ensure that lunchtime is safe and enjoyable for our pupils. A First Aid qualification would be an advantage, but training will be provided as necessary.
Role: Midday Assistant
Pay Grade: Scale 2, £9.43ph
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12 to 1pm, term time only
Start Date: ASAP
Key responsibilities for this post include:
- Securing the safety, welfare and good conduct of our pupils during the lunchtime break
- Supervision of pupils eating lunch in their classrooms/dining hall and on the playgrounds and around the school premises
- Administrating first aid
Successful candidates will need to:
- be light hearted and caring
- be enthusiastic about the children's individual talents and needs
- be firm but fair when managing challenging behaviour
- be flexible within their role, good team players and able to work on their own initiative

Our school is well maintained and boasts extensive grounds providing a large playing field, a Forest School area and two playgrounds. The outdoor pavilion provides shelter and is used as an outdoor classroom. We have seven main classrooms, a Nursery and a enhanced provision for the teaching of Hearing Impaired Children. The Nursery has places for 26 part-time pupils and they are involved in the social life of the school, helping them experience a very successful transition to our reception class in the mainstream school.The enhanced provision has 18 places and caters for pupils who are severe/profoundly deaf from across the whole of North East Essex.
