SEN Class Teacher of English
Full time, permanent
Directed hours: Mondays 8.15 - 5.30, Tuesdays to Fridays 8.15 - 4.30
Required ideally 2nd September 2020
We are looking for a positive, flexible, compassionate person to join our friendly team at Clarity Independent School, which opened in September 2019. We cater for 12 pupils with SEN. We have exciting opportunities for an applicant who wishes to design and deliver a tailor-made English curriculum for small groups of children, overseeing a class and supervising HLTAs.
You will be responsible for a class / key group of 4-6 children and will teach Key Stage 2-4 English to these small groups or on a one to one basis (along with other lessons as required). Lessons will be at the school, and activities will be in and around the local area. We use specialist support teams for extra-curricular activities and you will be required to transport and accompany children to and from these, supervising throughout. Ownership and use of a car full time, as well as a full driving license, is therefore essential.
The successful applicants will need to have substantial recent experience teaching pupils with SEN, along with substantial experience teaching English up to the end of Key Stage 4 and the level of foundation GCSE.
This is a great opportunity to develop skills in working with SEN pupils in a small, nurturing special school setting. A commitment to working as part of a team, being teachable, teaching / supporting others and to developing your own skills is essential.
If you would like a tour, please contact Jenny, our office manager to arrange.
Interviews will be taking place duringthe second week in September2020, although applications will be screened during the summer holidays and may be contacted sooner in order to start 2nd September; therefore, early applications are welcome.
