Learning and Pastoral Support Assistant / Targeted Support for SEND pupil
Pay scale: Scale 3 point 4 £18426 (gross)
Mayflower Primary school is seeking to appoint a Learning and Pastoral Support Assistants (LPSAs) for targeted support for a pupil with SEND for up to 30 hours per week.
The post will involve working under the direction of the class teacher, deputy, headteacher and SENDco. It will involve working with an individual on a one-to-one basis, who has specific learning needs in a KS1 class.
The hours for the post includes lunchtime supervision.
The ideal candidate will:
have at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in maths and English
have had experience of working in schools
have experience of supporting children with special educational needs
have a good understanding of how children learn
have outstanding behaviour management strategies
be able to lead games and supervise children effectively during playtimes and lunchtimes
be flexible and able to use their own initiative
be able to work as part of a team
have excellent communication skills
be energetic, enthusiastic and have a passion for supporting children with their learning
