Reporting to: CEO/Executive Headteacher and Board of Directors

The South Essex Alliance Multi-Academy Trust is undergoing a period of restructure in order to meet the government directive to expand. It is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Chief Finance Officer to begin the work of creating a central administration team. In the first instance the role will be to provide both financial functions for the Trustees and Chief Executive Officer. In undertaking the role the post holder has the potential to shape the future of the trust in partnership with the CEO and trustees.

The successful applicant will:

· Have appropriate financial qualifications and experience.

· Have School Business Manager Qualification (preferable but not essential).

· Be computer literate with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Have experience of managing premises related matters including Health and Safety, CIF bids, liaising with contractors and securing competitive quotes.

· Have experience of monitoring finances and auditing procedure to report to LSB's and trustees.

· Be familiar with the audit process, dealing with auditors and making the appropriate returns to the ESFA.

· Understand the confidential nature of this role.

· Be flexible, proactive and organised, capable of working at home and across sites.

· Have a patient, caring and committed attitude towards the role.
