Post: 21.25 hours per week, term time only: 8.45am - 1.00pm

Start date: 1.9.20.

Queen Boudica Primary School is a thriving and successful two-form entry primary school situated on the north side of Colchester. We offer modern, well-resourced learning environments and our pupils are well mannered, dynamic and motivated to learn. You will be offered strong support from friendly colleagues and professional development opportunities to enable you to extend your existing skill set.

We are in receipt of funding for a new pupil joining us in Reception in September with Down's Syndrome, who requires an adult to work with her on a 1-1 basis, supporting the teaching team with delivery of an individualised curriculum focussed upon academic attainment as well as speech and language and social skills.

Experience with, and/or willingness to complete training in Makaton would be an advantage, as well as experience of planning and delivery of individualised curriculums. The ability to lead 1:1 and small group sessions is vital. Close liaison with home and attendance at termly reviews are essential, and effective working with other professionals in a 'team around' approach is also important.

As with all posts in our school, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check, in line with our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We reserve the right to close the advert early if an appropriate candidate applies.

Closing date: July 6th 12.00 noon

Interviews: week beginning July 13th
