Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm

Greensward Academy is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our caring and highly competent team of SEN staff. You will be supporting a named student during the school day. Experience is preferred, but candidates should have a good educational background including at least GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics. We are looking for a highly motivated applicant who is energetic, flexible and has a positive outlook.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • providing daily support for a named student during the school day
  • attending to students' personal medical needs where appropriate
  • supporting the students' use of ICT and other skills in developing independence
  • supporting students in physical activities and education, including academic differentiation, where appropriate
  • establishing positive relationships with students supported
  • supporting students in external examinations in accordance with their dispensations
  • understanding specific learning and care needs and providing appropriate support
  • maintaining necessary records as directed
  • Participating in appropriate professional development
  • Flexibility may be required in terms of providing support to students before and after school and during break times (including lunch break).

Greensward Academy is an 11-19 comprehensive academy based in Hockley in Essex. It is part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfil their real potential.
