52 weeks per year
Working Hours - Split Shift Monday to Friday 7.00am to 10.54am and 2.30pm to 6.00pm
Salary £18426 - £18795
Start Date: Mid-August 2020, to be discussed at interview.
Lakelands Primary School is a brand new, 2 form entry primary school opening in September 2020 in Stanway, Colchester. Located in new £6m facilities, we are looking to recruit a Caretaker to provide a professional caretaking service to the school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new school and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the operational side of the school.
We are seeking to appoint a reliable, and self-motivated individual to undertake this key role within the school. The successful applicant will understand the aims and priorities of the school and take pride in the contribution they can make to achieving them. This role will involve a range of general caretaking tasks including general grounds and buildings maintenance, portage, general security and liaison with contractors and suppliers and maintaining health and safety across the site.
We are looking for someone who is:
· Friendly, approachable and a team player
· A good communicator
· Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage own workload
· Excellent at DIY and general maintenance
· Experienced and knowledgeable about health and safety regulations and procedures,
or willing to undertake training
· Able to take pride in the appearance and condition of our school, both internally and externally
· Flexible and adaptable
This is a full-time position with hours arranged in a split shift with an extended break in the middle of the day. You must be able and prepared to work some unsociable hours (including occasional alarm call outs).
Experience of a similar role within a school will be a significant advantage.
Full training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

The school will open in September 2020, welcoming our first cohort of 60 reception aged children in two classes. Year on year the school will grow, providing 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old by 2026.
